 HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

Department of Mathematics started functioning as teaching department from 1945.The activities of the department were formally inaugurated and started by Sri Pakala Subba Rao, under the principalship of Sri. D Subramanyam. Then Sri C.Dhaskhina Murthy, Sri N.Ch. Pattabhi Ramacharyulu, Sri K.V Subba Rao, Sn V Krishnaji Rao, Sri E Gopalacharyulu, Sri. B.V.G.S. Murthy, Sri. K.Mallikharjuna Rao and Sri D. Jagannadha Babu, Joined as lecturers Sri K.V. Subba Rao, he was appointed as controller of examinations in Sir C.R.R. Autonomous College. Sri. K.V.Subba Rao worked as controller of examinations for three years from 1988 to 1991. Sri V.Krishnaji Rao worked as vice- principal from 1969 to 1986 before he became principal in 1986 and retired as principal on 31-12 1990. Later he served the college as Administrative officer from 1-1-1991 to 31-05-1991. The department feels proud to say that Sri. V. Krishnaji Rao also worked as Senate Member Andhra University, Waltair from 1971 to 1976. Sri N.Ch.Pattabhi Ramacharyulu resigned from his service and joined as Professor in R.E.C, Warangal.

The department is situated in the main college campus. The department is one of the oldest department among the university colleges.
